PRESTO WP1 Continues Biological Experiments

The second round of biological experiments within Work Package 1 (WP1) of the PRESTO project was completed on 20 April 2026, marking an important step in the systematic study of normal tissue response in proton minibeam radiation therapy (pMBRT).

Animal irradiations were carried out at the Danish Centre for Particle Therapy.

The studies investigate the sparing effect of pMBRT, with a particular focus on radiation-induced fibrosis, a common side effect that can impair tissue function and mobility.
