CORNET projet WEBINAR

As part of the European CORNET project, funded by the PIANOFORTE partnership for European research in the field of radiation protection, a webinar will be held to explore the mutational and non-mutational mechanisms underlying carcinogenesis induced by ionizing radiation.

The speakers participating in the discussion will be Dr. Dmitry Klokov, Head of the Laboratory of Experimental Radiobiology and Toxicology at the French Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ASNR), and Dr. Christophe Badie, Head of the Radiation Effects Department at the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA).The event will provide a critical and up-to-date overview of the main scientific evidence and the most recent interpretative models concerning the biological mechanisms involved. Particular attention will be given to the role of these mechanisms in the context of exposure to low doses of ionizing radiation and to their implications for understanding and assessing radiation risk.

The webinar will be coordinated by Dr. Jonica Campolo (IFC CNR Milan) and Dr. Maria Grazia Andreassi (IFC CNR Pisa).
