The PRESTO project held its kick-off meeting online on 27 February 2026, bringing together project partners, students, and early-career researchers from the participating institutions.
PRESTO aims to advance proton minibeam radiation therapy (pMBRT), an innovative approach to proton therapy designed to better spare normal tissues while maintaining effective tumour control.
During the meeting, leaders of the different work packages presented the planned activities and objectives for the coming months. New students joining the project were also introduced, highlighting the strong education and training component of PRESTO.
The consortium also discussed opportunities for collaboration and dissemination within
the Pianoforte Partnership and
EURADOS networks, including participation in upcoming scientific meetings in 2026 and 2027. Particular attention was given to opportunities for young scientists within these networks.
