The PRESTO consortium participated in the
Proton Minibeam Therapy (PMBT) workshop (Pisa, 28 - 30 April 2026), bringing together an international community working on spatially fractionated and minibeam approaches in particle therapy.
The workshop also marked the first in-person meeting of the PRESTO consortium, after several months of online collaboration. Meeting face-to-face for the first time provided an important opportunity to connect ongoing discussions, align on project activities, and strengthen collaboration across all work packages.
PRESTO was represented across multiple scientific sessions, with contributions covering treatment planning, modelling, and experimental developments in proton minibeam radiation therapy (pMBRT). These presentations reflected the breadth of the consortium’s work, from fundamental methods to translational and experimental aspects.
Beyond the formal programme, the workshop offered valuable space for discussion and exchange between participants, helping to further build links within the PRESTO consortium and the wider PMBT community.
