VERIFIED measurement campaign
Last week a group of researchers from InViLab-University of Antwerp, together with prof Hrvoje Hršak performed measurement campaign in the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, Zagreb Croatia. Measurement campaign belongs to activites of WP3 - Image-based Monitoring for hfGKRS - Development of an image-based monitoring system for capturing the patient head surface during treatment.
The objectives of the measurements were:
- Check if our solution (projector and camera) can be used on the GammaKnife machine itself
For the moment we used a solution with clamps but we have also a full 3d scan of the machine so we can create a custom machined or printed bracket that fits perfect.
- Perform experiments on the accuracy of our system and the accuracy of the HDMM system.
We did this by using a manual translation stage but also an automated highly accurate one. We are still working on the analysis of these results. The first outcome is that it seems that we have a similar accuracy as the HDMM but it highly depends on the direction of movement.
- Fitting the projector and camera system to the Gamma Knife irradiation geometry was also successfully tested.
