SONORA KICK-OFF MEETING: 8TH APRIL 2024, OXFORD, UNITED KINGDOM

Kick-Off meeting of SONORA project (Towards safe, optimized and personalized radiology and radiotherapy procedures for pregnant patients) took place on 8th April 2024 in Oxford (United Kingdom) as a satellite to EURADOS Annual meeting.

Fourteen project participants joined meeting in person and 10 online. Each WP leader presented its respective package followed by discussion (WP1: State of the art: practices, methods and tools - IRSN, WP2: Personalized pregnant patients – MEFOS, WP3:  Diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures during pregnancy – EEAE, WP4: Radiotherapy during pregnancy - SCK CEN, WP5: Social outreach – RBI). Participants for each task were determined and a timeframe for accomplishing planned deliverables was confirmed and agreed. Timeframe for conducting experimental campaigns was discussed as well as the detectors that are going to be used.  

The overall objective of SONORA project is improving the accuracy of fetal doses estimation in diagnostic and interventional radiology and radiotherapy in order to optimize processes and improve benefit/risk communication with the patient.
