The CITISTRA project research team met from 24 to 27 August in Gdansk. Progress made by the project partners was presented and discussed, along with activities planned for the final phase of the project, running until April 2027. Contributions to the final project reports and planned publications were reviewed in detail. Project results will be presented in several oral and poster contributions accepted for the ERPW conference in Berlin, other contributions will be presented at national and international conferences.
Polish colleagues organized a visit to the Institute of Oceanology PAN in Sopot, where the institute management introduced their excellent research activities in long-term monitoring of the Baltic Sea and the Arctic Ocean. The subsequent open discussion focused on measurements of radionuclide concentrations in waters and seabed sediments, as well as the expected impact of newly built nuclear reactors on the ecosystem in this area.
