Join the Young Scientists Social at ERPW 2024

Calling all young scientists attending ERPW 2024! We’re excited to announce that ECRad is organizing special social activities just for you.

ECRad Meeting – 15.11.2024 9:00 - 13:00

What is ECRad?

ECRad (Early Career Scientists in Radiation Protection) is a freshly born network that aims to connect the European initiatives for young and early career researchers and professionals in Radiation Protection in order to expand early career scientists’ professional horizons regarding current opportunities (mentorship, professional growth, open positions, interdisciplinary collaborations, training courses) and lay the foundations for fulfilling and impactful careers. This network therefore directly addresses the Vancouver Call for Action to strengthen expertise in radiation protection.

We believe that peer support is crucial for career building and coping with the challenges of the field. Within the ECRad framework, networking promotes an environment that encourages learning from real-world scenarios, building confidence, developing skills, and providing mentoring opportunities.

Why should I participate in our upcoming meeting?

This event provides an opportunity for engaging with peers and experienced professionals from diverse backgrounds. Early career scientists can gain valuable insights and practical advice on career paths, develop essential soft skills, and learn about mentorship and job opportunities in radiation protection through the scientific societies in their field. This exposure will help young scientists identify potential professional prospects that align with their aspirations and make well-informed career decisions.

In alignment with the core objective of fostering networking opportunities for early career scientists, this event is planned to take place in-person. The immersive in-person experience is designed to facilitate meaningful interactions, knowledge exchange, and professional relationship building among attendees. Online attendance is also possible for those who are interested in following the panel discussions and lectures.

What are the goals of this meeting?

●       To identify early career scientists in the field of radiation protection and their specific needs,

●       To gather and connect the leadership of European networks and initiatives for early career scientist in radiation protection,

●       To showcase the ECRad network and its activities uniting all the early career scientist groups within European projects, associations and platforms.
